Program
Features:
Assessment
A complimentary screening is done to determine if the client has
the "gift" portion of dyslexia. An interview is conducted with
the Davis® Facilitator to design a program specific to the
client's individual needs and to set goals for that individual's prospective
program. This takes approximately one and a half hours and is addressed
individually during our monthly presentations. Please call for times,
dates, and registrations.
A positive result enables us to
guarantee our program for that individual.
Davis Orientation Counselling®
The client develops the ability to detect and correct
disorientation (or inaccurate perceptions) at will.
Davis Symbol Mastery®
A dyslexic masters concepts which may be causing
confusion and triggering disorientations by mastering those concepts in
clay. The client will create the alphabet in upper and lower case, punctuation,
and words for which there are no mental pictures. In a math program, we
address numerals and other math symbols. Other concepts such as
order vs. disorder, consequence, time, sequence, etc. may be addressed as
would best benefit the client and his or her needs.
Sight Training
A process is given to train the client's eyes to move
smoothly from left to right and to comprehend (using mental imagery) what is
being read.
Kinesthetic
Development
Kinesthetic and balancing exercises resolve many
coordination issues arising from disorientation and strengthen the neural
networks for accurate perception.
Follow Up
Home Study
Program:
A client takes responsibility for setting learning
goals and designing a schedule to practice the new skills at home. This
can take up to two years, but is generally accomplished in less than one year.
Support Training:
A committed family member or tutor will be taught the
basic symbol mastery methods and shown how to coach the client during home
study. The "support person" will be needed during the
client's entire follow up program.
Review and Consultation:
We provide unlimited phone
support and are glad to
answer any questions which may arise after the program. If needed, the
client may return for up to three review sessions (of two hours each) at no additional charge.
For free assessment and
consultation times and availability call toll free:
