I do not know the Smiths personally. I have only seen the results of their work with one student, Tony J.
Tony left school in December for one week of intensive, one on one instruction at Rocky Point Academy®. He came back to us an excited, eager reader with a confidence boost. He is willing to tackle any book, but knows when to ask for help with a word. He is still practicing the skills that he was taught and is reading more fluently than he did before. He can tell me in sequence what he read while I was not with him. He also reads with expression. He rereads if he feels he did not understand what he read. He has made progress in the classroom also. He works more independently now in all areas because everything does not have to be read to him. The level of independent reading has definitely gone up because of his time at Rocky Point Academy®, in my opinion.
