Stacey Smith

Stacey Smith is a presenter, trainer, facilitator, and co-director of Rocky Point Academy in Calgary, Alberta.

Stacey Smith is a dedicated educator and advocate for neurodiversity, deeply inspired by her personal experience with dyslexia. While pursuing her Education Degree, Stacey volunteered in elementary schools, coached the local Special Olympics Swim Team, and worked as a job coach and life skills facilitator. She designed and implemented personalized programs and taught life-skill classes for individuals with neurodiversity and physical challenges. In her elementary classroom, Stacey explored innovative, multisensory teaching methods but noticed that some bright students still struggled with learning or behaviours. The introduction of the Davis procedures significantly improved these students' learning experiences, enhancing their progress, self-esteem, and behaviours.

Motivated by these outcomes, Stacey left the public school system to focus on children who didn’t thrive with traditional methods. In 2000, she co-founded Rocky Point Academy with her husband and became a licensed Davis Facilitator in 2001. The academy's mission is to empower neurodivergent individuals by transforming their learning abilities and interactions in life with personalized, strength-based learning methods. This approach helps individuals realize their innate potential, leading to increased confidence, ability, and control over their own learning and lives.

Since 2008, Stacey has been a trainer for Davis Dyslexia International, conducting numerous workshops and trainings to emphasize the positive aspects of neurodiversity and deliver impactful strategies. She is now also facilitating other Davis trainers, further expanding her impact and expertise.

As a learning specialist, trainer, presenter, and executive team member of Davis International, Stacey has connected with individuals of all ages from around the globe. Her goal is to learn from and value each person's experiences, leaving them feeling unique, confident, and capable. She loves working with individuals who feel frustrated or stuck, helping them realize their goals are more attainable than they once thought.

Stacey is passionate about working with clients of all ages, whether they face challenges with reading, writing, math, executive function skills, ADHD, or are on the autism spectrum. She is experienced in all Davis programs and is grateful to offer these programs that positively impact those she works with.

Stacey currently resides in Priddis, Alberta, with her husband of over 30 years, enjoying life on their hobby farm, travelling, and spending time with family.
