Legibility
Fine motor skills, awareness of letter formation, consistency of size, shape and spacing of letters.

Visual Spatial
Copying off the board, writing on a horizontal line and equal spacing of words.

Written Expression
Strategies for getting thoughts onto paper, and the ability to develop story structures and essay structures.

Spelling
Basic rules of spelling and what letters or combinations make specific sounds.

Editing
Correcting your own omissions/deletions/spelling and grammar errors, accurate punctuation usage, adding helpful details, establishing clear and sequential writing.

Positive Thinking
Relaxed mindset allows for maximum learning potential, recognizing and eliminating stress, and strategies for decreasing “test anxiety.”

• Frustration with getting thoughts onto paper in a logical sequence

Purpose
Addresses legibility, getting thoughts on paper, editing and spelling. This is done by enabling the individual to stabilize perceptions, control perceptual distortions, and learn to use specific techniques to develop easier and more effective writing.

Age
Appropriate for children with a maturity age seven or over, and adults of any age.

Length of Program
Approximately 30 hours, typically given over the course of five consecutive days, and unlimited hours of follow-up consultation are included without extra charge.

Note
This program is usually combined with a reading program, as one complements the other.
